Update From Haiti

January 15: God Has Directed Me to Give Back to Haiti

Haiti saved hundreds of Hews from the Holocaust, and God has directed me to repay Haiti for the kindness they showed to the Chosen People so many years ago at a time when they are in desperate need of our help. We are going to send aid, but I need your help so that we can make a real difference for these hurting people.

The massive loss of life in Haiti and the widespread destruction has already taken a huge toll on the already poor nation. Hundreds of thousands of people are living without electricity, running water or a safe place to live. Many homes that were not completely destroyed were damaged so badly that they are not safe for habitation. The Secretary of State called the level of destruction "biblical." The reports that I have received from my contacts in the country paint a grim picture indeed—but together we can make a difference.

We will tell everyone that this aid has been provided by the members of the Jerusalem Prayer Team—Christians who love people they have never met and are willing to help them when they are in desperate need.

Israel is sending help—search and rescue teams, dozens of doctors and more than two hundred support personnel. They know the history of Haiti and how they helped the Jews escape the Holocaust. Israel was one of the first nations to respond to this need. And now it's our turn
